Position Duties/Responsibilities:
SENIOR ENGINEER III

Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in
a global business unit. Applies broad knowledge of engineering
principles and practices to project engineering in the preparation of
engineering analyses. Makes decisions concerning problems within the
discipline on the project. Represents the discipline on the project and
with the client as directed to resolve technical questions.



This position is for Mechanical engineering design on a nuclear power
plant with work location in the Knoxville Tennessee area.

The Senior Mechanical/Nuclear Engineer's responsibilities include the
review and evaluation of nuclear power plant systems; research and
evaluation of licensing issues; development and review of walkdown
packages for P&IDs; performance of walkdowns for data collection or
verification; identification of deficiencies; and collaborative
resolution of technical issues and questions. The engineer will assist
in reviewing and developing system calculations, equipment
specifications, subcontract specifications, vendor reports, operational
mode calculations, design change packages, and design criteria
documents. The position includes the development of scope, schedule,
and estimates for design activities. Clear explanations of design
attributes and requirements to outside agencies and clients will be
required. The senior engineer is expected to support the Engineering
Group Supervisor in managing discipline work and coordinating, providing
technical direction and reviewing the work of other engineers.

Basic Qualifications
Candidates must have a BS degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Chemical
Engineering, or related engineering field.

Candidates must have at least twelve years of engineering work.

Candidates responding to this posting must currently possess the
eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Candidate must be capable of passing nuclear security screening
requirements and be able to obtain un-escorted clearance to a nuclear
power plant.

Understanding of the US regulatory process for nuclear power plants and
the documentation supporting that process.

Candidates must have excellent written and verbal skills.

Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications
Power plant experience.

Strong experience in general operating plant work, safety evaluations,
and design change packages.

Additional consideration will be given to candidates with current
professional engineering license.

MS degree in engineering.
