Position Duties/Responsibilities:
SENIOR ENGINEER III

Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in
a global business unit. Applies broad knowledge of engineering
principles and practices to project engineering in the preparation of
engineering analyses. Makes decisions concerning problems within the
discipline on the project. Represents the discipline on the project and
with the client as directed to resolve technical questions.


This position is for a senior engineer performing electrical power
distribution and generation systems and/or controls design on the Watts
Bar nuclear power plant with work location in the Knoxville and Spring
City, Tennessee area.

This individual will be working under the direction of more senior
engineers or supervision and may have more junior level subordinates
with responsibilities for group performance and deliverables.
Responsible to produce design drawings and documentation with a high-
level of technical complexity within the discipline. Examples of this
documentation may include single lines, three-line diagrams, system
descriptions, protection and control logic diagrams as well as lower-
level discipline drawings and designs. Performs systems calculations
such as large transformer sizing, power system relay protection
setpoint, short circuit and voltage drop calculations. Develops
specifications for equipment where deviation from standard documentation
is required such as medium voltage switchgear, diesel generators, power
transformers. Prepares design change packages.

Plans and coordinates individual work and subordinates (if any) within
and outside the discipline including client, equipment manufacturers and
other departments including construction and startup.

Individual must be knowledgeable in the codes and standards within the
industry and familiar with related construction practice.

Basic Requirements:

BSEE, BSEET.

15 years of practical design experience in electrical engineering within
a related industry.

Candidate must have the right to legally work and remain in the United
States.

Candidate must be capable of passing nuclear security screening
requirements and be able to obtain an unescorted clearance to a nuclear
power plant.

Candidate must have excellent written and verbal skills .

Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Requirements:

Professionally registered engineer in the U.S.

8 years of experience in electrical engineering within the power plant
generation industry.

Expertise in computer based engineering analysis tools (for example:
CAPTOR, ETAP, EDSA, SETROUTE and BLOCKDRAW).

Ability to produce design drawings in a 2D CADD environment utilizing
Microstation or Autocad.

Previous experience leading the work efforts of subordindate
engineers/designers.

MSEE in power systems design.
